Wake up Minnesota Now is the time

Wake up Minnesota Now is the time
By: Gregory Laney

When is it time to step away from the normal rules and procedures? When is it time to depart from restrictions and control? When is it time for “We the People” to have the power to act, believe, or express yourself in a manner of your own choosing? When is it time for “We the People” to be free from unjust or undue governmental control?

Are you tired of career politicians, celebrities or rich lawyers telling you what to do? I don't know about you folks but I'm fed up and I'm not going to take it anymore. Im tired of TV ads and radio advertisements bickering back and forth about policies and new ways to spend the money of hard working taxpayers. Millions of dollars get spent on political advertisements trying to sell you a plan or a face. It is time for “We the People to stand up and support common sense rather than progressive logic. Do you need to be sold or lectured to?

Would you like to be in control of your life and your money? Your life is for you to make the decisions on how healthy you want to be and how successful you want to be. Your money that you earn by working hard, is for you to make the choices on how to spend it. I think its time for you to get paid before the government gets paid. Its time to take back the voice of “We the People”. Minnesotans are known as NICE. Is it nice for the government to take your hard earned money before you even see it? Is it nice for the government to tell you not to smoke in/on your private property?

Am I a bad person because I want to make the choice of what charities or special interest groups receive my money? Am I a bad person because I want to operate a business the way I choose? Am I a bad person because I want to take care of my family and make sure they are healthy and happy before I help out a poor person?

The government stole the role of accountability and self reliance from each individual and replaced self reliance and accountability with Social justice. Why do you try hard and do your best when the reward or money you earn gets stolen from you before you even see it? No one can be successful if no one fails. Failure weeds out the weaknesses in people and turns the weakness into a problem to solve. I have made mistakes in my life. I am not perfect, the failures I have overcome have molded me into a person that has the strength and courage to learn from the mistakes and into a stronger better person.

What can “We the People” do to overcome the takeover of your life your freedom your liberty? God has given “We the People” certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. When the government becomes destructive of your God given rights it's the Right of “We the People” to alter or to abolish the system of government that has become greater than God.

“We the People” is a message I have heard at many rallies and Tea Parties. Its time for “We the People to stand up and take back our Freedom our Liberty and our Pursuit of happiness. “We the People” don't need to be told what to do. We know what is best for us and our families.

I am ready to be a voice for “We the People”. I am willing to stand up and come out of the crowd and be a voice for the citizens. I am not a career politician, I am not a lawyer, I am not a celebrity. I may not have the charm or charisma that a typical politician has. I don't intend to be a typical politician. I intend to be the voice of the common man. I am a husband, a father and a machinist. I have been married to my wife for ten years. My wife and I have three children. Both my wife and I have strong work ethics, we believe in accountability and self reliance. The goal of my wife and I is to raise our children to have strong Values and Principals.

The Principles I represent and embrace are as follows:

1. America needs the Constitution and it cannot be ignored or rewritten.
2. I believe in God and God gave “We the People” our Freedom and Liberty.
3. I must always be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
4. My family is sacred. The families of “We the People” are the ultimate authority, not the government.
5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
6. “We the People” have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results, regardless of your race or religion.
7. “We the People” work hard for what we have and “We the People” will share it with who we want to. Government cannot force “We the People” to be charitable.
8. It is not UN-American for “We the People” to disagree with authority or to share our personal opinions.
9. The government works for 'We the People”. “We the People” do not answer to them, they answer to “We the People”.

The list of Values I firmly stand on are:

Honesty, Reverence, Hope, Thrift, Humility, Charity, Sincerity, Moderation, Hard Work, Courage, Personal Responsibility, Gratitude

The real Change and the real Hope consists inside yourself and you being responsible for your own actions. To restore Liberty and Freedom in America we need people to stand up for the Constitution and take party in the political process. Get involved locally on your school boards, city council and join grassroots organizations that work to educate and inform the public of of the real news and the real issues. Its time for regular common citizens to become the politicians and its time to kick out the elitists and the type of Monarchy or idols that are currently holding public offices.

I have presented this message to you today because I am running for City Council of Zimmerman MN in 2010. I am in the process of exploring what the citizens of Zimmerman want to see and what “We the People” want to happen. I want to open my ears and listen to the citizens of Zimmerman and here the answers, the solutions from the people rather than from politicians. I am a common man that is standing up and ready to say its time for Freedom and Liberty to prevail. Thank you.
